Dream Destination – Zanzibar

There are so many places I want to visit – last week I blogged about Cuba as the first of my dream destinations! I mentioned I’m going to start featuring all my dream destinations on the blog – just to keep giving myself that constant reminder, a little nudge…so here we go – destination deux today!

On top of my list – closely competing with Cuba, Bali, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro & Machu Puchi is the most stunning and amazing Zanzibar.

I’ve been to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda – and Tanzania is so most definitely a must-visit place for me! I swear, the stunning and gorgeous archipelago of Zanzibar (or main island of Unguja) just gets more beautiful every single time I look at pictures…clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches…paradise…

Where to start when trying to plan a trip to Zanzibar? Of course – check out the Lonely Planet guide to Zanzibar…read some “real” reviews from travellers on the section for Zanzibar on TripAdvisor

As the Zanzibar archipelago is a part of Tanzania it might also help to visit the official website of the tourism board of Tanzania – their website is here.

I am yet to go to Zanzibar, so I have absolutely no first hand advice to give – but here are a few websites I have come across trying to look up info for myself that might be useful: Africa Sky, Freedom Africa, Zanzibar’s selection of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and of course the UK’s mainstream luxury travel agent Kuoni’s selection of Zanzibar offers – supposed good travel sites Destinology and even Mr. & Mrs. Smith have no useful info or reviews – such a let down (Mr. & Mrs. Smith gives me Las Vegas reviews for “Zanzibar” – wtf?!).
