For a friend’s 30th birthday we’ve booked 2 cottages on Isea Island next month – looks gorgeous, can’t wait!
We are going to be a group of 10 people, we have 1x 6 persons cottage and 1x 4 persons cottage booked through http://www.oseaisland.co.uk
Useless Facts: the Munich-born artist Walter Sickert of the ‘Camden Town Group’ was in rehab on the island for alcoholism when it belonged to Charrington. Since then it has also been a rehab clinic called “The Causeway Retreat” and had celebrity patients including Amy Winehouse (another Camden-ite!) but was shut down for negligence in 2010…apparently some of the island still functions as a free retreat for soldiers suffering from PTSD, not sure who manages or runs this though?
I will be staying in a cottage called “The Chase” myself…not too shabby:
The chase is a spacious two storey cottage, that comfortably sleeps 6. There are two double bedrooms with four poster beds, one with a wood burning stove, three bathrooms, two with roll top baths and showers. The cosy living room also has a wood burning stove and an adjoining kitchen/dining room leading out to a garden. (The Chase does not accept pets)
